about ME
Accounting has not always come easily to me. In the past, I would have considered myself more of the artsy or creative type. After a number of years as a stay-at-home mom with four children, I was forced to become financially literate when my husband started his own business. While he worked on growing his business and expanding his skills, I took on crunching the numbers and managing our household finances plus the business finances. There was a learning curve but I found I enjoyed the work and even took on some formal learning, earning a Bookkeeping Certificate from Conestoga College.
Outside of number-crunching I consider myself an artsy type. In a previous life I got a degree in art history and worked at a commercial gallery. I also play piano and have sung in a number of choirs.
